INSTALLATION of safe standing in the Northam has begun ahead of a trial run during this weekend's Championship fixture.

The entire Northam Stand at St Mary's will be safe standing next season, Saints confirmed in finalised changes last week.

Pictures of the railing in the stadium have emerged with Saints hosting London City Lionesses in the Women's Championship.

The upper tiers of blocks 40-43 include the safe-standing rails, while the lower tier has so far remained unchanged.

Supporters who attend the fixture with tickets in these blocks will be the first to experience safe standing at St Mary's.

Season tickets for the Northam are due to go on sale on Tuesday, April 23, with early bird prices confirmed by the club.

Season tickets are priced at £499 for adults, £449 for over 65s, £349 for 18-25 year olds, £279 for under-18s and £199 for under-14s.

Away fans are being relocated to the Chapel/Kingsland corner, while the family area moving to the Itchen/Chapel corner.

All other season ticket prices will be released at the end of the season, with prices across the stadium likely to increase by 10-15 per cent.
