EASTLEIGH's Paul McCallum was on the losing side for England against Wales C on Tuesday evening.

The Vanarama National League top goalscorer could not prevent Paul Fairclough's side from falling to a 1-0 defeat in Llanelli.

Despite being made up of entirely part-time footballers, Wales secured their second win over England in three years.

Caernarfon's Sion Bradley scored the game's only goal with a fantastic free-kick just before the break.

McCallum, who missed Eastleigh's defeat at Barnet while on England C duty, played a full 90 minutes at Stebonheath Park.

After a physical battle with the Welsh defence, the 30 year old likened the game to a rugby match on social media.

The International Challenge Match England C and Wales C has been used as an opportunity for players to impress scouts and gain a move to the Football League.

Former Eastleigh wingback Vincent Harper featured in England's 1-0 victory last season before securing a move to Exeter City of League One.
