EASTLEIGH's Vanarama National League away fixture against Barnet has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A pitch inspection on Tuesday deemed the playing surface at The Hive Stadium to be unplayable, causing the game to be called off six hours before the arranged 7:45 kick-off.

A statement on the Spitfires' website confirmed that all tickets will remain valid for the rearranged game, with new fixture details to be announced in due course.

The statement added: "Supporters wishing to request a refund will be able to once the new fixture date is announced and can be done by contacting Barnet Football Club."

Eastleigh, managed by former Saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis, sat 14th in the National League, 22 points behind second-place Barnet at the start of the week.

A last-gasp equaliser from Paul McCallum saw the Spitfires secure a 3-3 draw against The Bees earlier this season at the Silverlake Stadium.

Eastleigh are next in action on Saturday, March 16 against Rochdale United, who sat one place above them ahead of the midweek fixtures.
