ADVERSE weather conditions meant that Eastleigh’s National League fixture with Solihull Moors at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday, November 27, was postponed.
The meeting was postponed on safety grounds due to a serious power outage caused by the extreme weather.
Ben Strevens’ side were going into the match with confidence off the back of two consecutive big wins against playoff-chasers Notts County and Dagenham & Redbridge.
Further updates on plans for the rescheduled fixture will be confirmed in due course.
National League officials gave a statement to the club when making the decision, reading: “Unfortunately due to continuing electrical supply issues into the Silverlake Stadium, which also affects the local area.
“After liaison with the League, it is regretted, in the interest of safety for all due to enter onto the footprint of the stadium today’s fixture has been postponed.”
Eastleigh gave this message to supporters: “We are extremely disappointed but have no choice but to postpone the game, and the club apologises to supporters for any inconvenience caused.”
Inaction means the Spitfires are now six points behind seventh-placed Wrexham in the playoff hunt after 16 games played, but with a game in hand on all but Yeovil above them.
