BOSS Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed Danny Ings could be out for a few weeks after picking up an injury against Sheffield United.
The England striker was forced off after just 13 minutes of today’s 2-0 victory over the Blades at Bramall lane, with what looked to be a groin problem.
He was replaced by Che Adams, who fired home Saints’ second goal after James Ward-Prowse’s converted penalty.
Frontman Ings has already seen his campaign disrupted after a knee problem earlier this season, as well as having to self-isolate after testing positive for COVID-19.
Speaking about Ings’s setback in south Yorkshire, Hasenhuttl said: “I don’t know. It doesn’t look so good I think.
“When you have a history of muscle injuries, you can be sure that he is again out for a few weeks.”
The injury could keep Ings out of Saints’ FA Cup quarter-final at Bournemouth on Saturday March 20.
