GOALS from Sam Griffin and Hisham Kasimu kept up AFC Totton’s impressive start to the Southern League Division One South season with victory at Thatcham Town.

Glenn Howes’s side came from behind to seal a 2-1 success – their sixth league win from eight games, writes Jack Clarkson.

The Stags fell victim to an early goal in the third minute. A free-kick 30 yards out was hit brilliantly by Thatcham’s George Smith to go in off the underside of the bar.

Despite piling on the pressure, it was not until the 63rd minute when Liam Robinson found a precise pass into Griffin, who took the ball down well and placed it home to bring the game level.

And Kishamu got the winner 10 minutes later when a good flick-on by Brett Williams was put into his path. Kishamu stayed calm, getting into the box and slotting the ball into the net.

Stags assistant manager James Wood said: “The players did well again, they persevered and were patient, being competitive when they needed to be and all importantly, got the win at the end.”
