MOUSSA Djenepo has set himself the target of surpassing ex-Saint Sadio Mane’s quality.

Mane arrived at St Mary’s in 2014 and, after moving to Liverpool in 2016, has become one of the Premier League’s best players.

But Saints winger Djenepo reckons he can be better than the Senegal international.

“Sadio is a big inspiration for me. I like him, he's a very big player,” Djenepo told talkSPORT.

“But I think I can be better [than him] if I work hard.

“Sadio is a very big player, and I'm young and I need to learn more.

"In the future, we will see. I will do my best to become the next Sadio Mane.”

Djenepo joined Saints from Standard Liege in a £14million deal last summer and has scored twice in his maiden season.
