ORIOL Romeu believes he and his Saints teammates will all benefit from their one-on-ones with Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The midfielder believes the whole squad has a better idea of what the Saints boss wants following their Tenerife appraisals.

“It’s very good to have the manager being honest with us and telling us the points that we’ve done well and which ones we need to improve on,” he told southamptonfc.com.

“Now we have a more clear idea of what we have to do next.

“It was mainly a 15-minute session talking about everything, our feelings in the team, what he thought about us, and everyone had the chance to do it.

“I think everyone has got a clear idea of what is demanded from the manager and the club.

“That’s been great and we’ve now got better possibilities to make sure we’re doing the right thing every time we step onto the pitch.”

Romeu enjoyed the extra training.

“We’ve enjoyed great conditions, great facilities and it’s been good to be away also for a few days and to be able to work long hours as a team, with some double sessions.

“It’s been very positive and was probably needed to get our heads away from our normal zone.

“Now these next few months are going to be very demanding.

“It’s going to be tough until the end of the season.

“The situation isn’t the best, but we feel very positive and are really looking forward to what’s coming ahead.”
