A FAREHAM man has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink driving.

Luke James Cooper was caught drink driving in a black Vauxhall Astra on Yew Tree Drive in Whiteley on April 24.

The 32-year-old was found to have 89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty.

Cooper, of Hunts Pond Road, Fareham, was disqualified from driving for 20 months and was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.
