Christmas is confirmed for Southampton as the popular festive market is set to return.

The announcement from organisers S&D Leisure comes seven months before the market is due to get underway.

The city market will once again boast a variety of stalls, food vendors, and the popular laser projection show on the Bargate.

Plans to welcome exciting rides to the market again are also in motion, with organisers seeking operators and stallholders.

Announcing the news on Facebook, S&D Leisure said: “Southampton Christmas Market 2023 was in ‘The best Christmas markets in the UK for 2023 to visit’ as posted by The Times newspaper.

“Southampton Christmas Market had record numbers attending in 2023 and this year's market will be bigger again.

“Southampton Christmas Market is right next to Westquay, the premier shopping and leisure destination on the South coast, and conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Southampton Central train station in the heart of the city centre.”

Visitors can expect a Christmas lights trail, a large grotto, more photo attractions and extra live music.

The Christmas market 2024 will ne open 11am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, and 10am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Sundays, the market will be open from 11am to 7pm.

It will be closed on Christmas Day.

Applications for Christmas grotto operators, market food vendors, rides and attractions operators, and market stallholders are open.
