Shocking photos have been shared by police after a crash between a car and a lorry on a country road.
Images of the damaged vehicles were shared on social media after the incident at 9.06pm last Tuesday on Bury Road, Marchwood.
In one photo, the car can be seen buried in a hedge with a crumpled bonnet.
The lorry sustained damage to the bumper on the passenger side of its cabin.
Despite the damage, no injuries were sustained in the crash.
The driver of the car has since been reported on suspicion of driving without insurance and dangerous driving.
In a Facebook post, police said: "This is a good reminder though of how dangerous the roads can be.
"Road safety is an important issue full of differing opinions, with some thinking we focus on things like speeding too much.
"Others think we do not focus on these issues enough. Incidents like this is a good example of why road safety is important. This young driver is very lucky to have escaped without injury.
"It is stated by witnesses that the incident was caused by excessive speed resulting in the driver losing control and hitting the front of the lorry and crashing into the side of the road.
"The driver had no insurance at the time of the crash and was reported on scene for driving a motor vehicle without insurance and dangerous driving."
