An owl designed by young cancer patients is now a key feature of Paultons Park's newly launched owl trail.

The owl is dedicated to Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity assisting children and young adults suffering from cancer, and their families. The charity is one of the theme park’s three aid partners.

Children undergoing treatment at Southampton General Hospital provided designs for the owl, with the final installation integrating the concepts submitted by Dulcie, Robbie, Kai, and Paige.

Young Lives vs Cancer provides comprehensive support to young cancer patients, aiding them during treatment and subsequent stages.

Specialist social workers from the charity help these patients and their families to deal with the economic implications of cancer, assisting through the benefits system and putting forward applications for financial grants.

Liz Blunt, senior fundraising engagement manager from Young Lives vs Cancer said: "This was such an exciting opportunity to ask children and young people we support to help design our new Young Lives vs Cancer owl at Paultons Park.

"A special thanks to Dulcie, Robbie, Kai and Paige for inspiring the design so that it is one very colourful owl.

"Thank you to our incredible partners at Paultons Park for this lovely opportunity and for their continued support for Young Lives vs Cancer too.

"It was really kind of Paultons Park to donate tickets so that Dulcie, Robbie, Kai and Paige can enjoy a visit to the Park and go to see their owl in person too."

Rob Griffiths, head of marketing and communications at Paultons Park said: "Paultons is proud to play an active role in our local community and support the great work being carried out by charities.

"We are delighted that our new Owl Walk is popular with families and that the walk includes three owls with designs based on our three premium charity partners."
