A planning application has been approved by Eastleigh Borough Council for two new artificial grass pitches at a University of Southampton sports ground in Eastleigh.
The proposals at the Wide Lane Sports Ground include two new 3G artificial grass pitches and fencing to the pitch perimeters.
In addition, new security fencing is proposed for the existing sports pavilion and gym pavilion at the Wide Lane site.

Located near Southampton Airport in Eastleigh, the existing sports ground covers 76 acres and already has a number of well-used facilities.
These include grass pitches for a range of sports including rugby, football and cricket, two floodlit Synthetic turf pitches, eight tennis courts, changing facilities, a bar and a sports performance centre.
