It has been pouring down with rain in Southampton today, and there won't be much let-up at all for the rest of Tuesday, November 1.

A weather warning from the Met Office was in place yesterday evening (October 31) for much of southern England, and Southampton seems set to continue getting the aftereffects.

In a statement on weather in the area for today, the Met Office said: "A windy start with gales along English Channel coasts, perhaps locally severe in exposed locations early morning.

"Sunny spells and scattered blustery showers through the day, some very heavy and perhaps thundery. Remaining windy near the coast, often breezy inland. Maximum temperature 16 °C."
