AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a woman who was seen walking in public in ‘a state of undress’.
Emergency services attended after Lynsay Wallington, 44 and of Alma Road, Southampton, was reported by members of the public.
Paramedics attended and she was admitted to Southampton General Hospital with fever and confusion. Ms Wallington died in hospital on November 8.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp opened an inquest into her death at Winchester Coroner’s Court.
Ms Rhodes-Kemp said: “Police were contacted due to concerns raised by the public about a woman walking down the street in a state of undress.”
No post mortem has been carried out, but the cause of death has been given as cerebral infarction, mitral valve infective endocarditis – operated on - and septic cerebral emboli, along with intravenous drug abuse and subcutaneous abscess, and hepatitis c infection.
Ms Rhodes-Kemp adjourned the hearing for a full inquest to take place on June 7, next year.
