CHRISTMAS has officially arrived in Eastleigh as the borough's festive lights were switched on.
The events which took place throughout last week saw hundreds come out into the streets to enjoy the festivities.
Eastleigh town centre was described as "a hive of activity" as both High Street and Market Street were lined with stalls from the community market whilst the Sainsbury's precinct was home to the special Christmas market.
Fair ground rides were open to children of all ages on Leigh Road Recreation Ground and performers from Happy's circus entertained the crowds.
Meanwhile in Hedge End, Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Cynthia Garton helped to turn on the lights on Wednesday with Chairman of the Town Council Cllr John Jupe, the Carnival Queen and Court.
Christmas lights are set to be turned on at North Stoneham Park next this Friday between 6pm and 7.30pm.
There will be singing from the local school and St Nicholas Church with stalls full of Christmas gifts and activities.
The baubles and Deck the Halls competition winners will also be announced.
