A SET of new films have been created in Southampton to increase the amount of pregnant women getting vaccinated against Covid-19.
Southampton City Council has created three animations by working with midwives and member of the Public Health team to highlight the most frequently asked questions by women hesitant to get the jab.
The first animations looks at pre-pregnancy and addresses concerns of women undergoing fertility treatment, whilst the second covers information for women who are currently pregnant.
The final film highlights the safety and efficacy of the vaccine for women who are breastfeeding.
Jo Mountfield, a Consultant Obstetrician at University Hospital Southampton and Vice President of the RCOG said: "Covid vaccination is now recommended for women at all stages in pregnancy and those trying to get pregnant.
"We know that understandably women have been hesitant in coming forward to be vaccinated in spite of the evidence of its safety and effectiveness. These animations are informative and easy to access and address many of the concerns women have raised."
The videos can be viewed on the city council website or Youtube channel.
