CATCH-UP collections are due to take place on over a dozen Southampton roads this weekend after bins were once again missed.

Southampton City Council says it has had to cancel glass collections across the city this week.

There have also been instances where general waste collections have not been completed or roads have been missed.

This is said to be due to the ongoing shortage of drivers.

Now catch-up general waste collections are due to take place tomorrow on a selection of roads.

Residents are being told to place their wheelie bins on the kerbside by 6am.

Below is a list of all the roads where catch-ups will take place:

  • Foundry Lane
  • Parkville Road
  • St Augustine Gardens
  • Neva Road
  • Malmesbury Road
  • Ampthill Road
  • Whitelaw Road
  • Kingsely Road
  • Salcombe Road
  • Meadowside Close
  • Claude Ashby Close
  • Monks Way
  • Wessex Lane
  • Eric Meadus Close
  • Westbrook Way
  • Farmery Close
  • Bankside
  • Friars Way
  • St Marys Church Close

A Southampton City Council spokesperson said on Twitter: "We can’t provide a time frame for when we'll be able to catch up on missed glass collections, but will return as soon as we can.

"Glass banks and pods are still being emptied as normal. We’re doing all we can to provide city wide collections & apologise for any inconvenience.

"We continue with our ongoing recruitment campaign for drivers. If any of your other bin collections are missed, please report this using our online form."
