AN appeal has been lodged after plans for a single-storey extension to an end-of-terrace house were turned down.
New Forest District Council rejected an application relating to one of three properties built in the 1960s at York Avenue, New Milton.
A report to members said the terrace contributed to the character of the area.
It added that the extension's design and forward projection would create a dominant and incongruous form of development would disrupt the symmetry of the terrace and detract from its uniform appearance.
"The proposed development would result in an unacceptable level of harm to the character and appearance of the dwelling and the wider terrace."
The applicant is hoping a government-appointed planning inspector will quash the council's decision.
