ANOTHER two animals have been injured in accidents on New Forest roads.

But new figures released by the New Forest Verderers show that no animals have been killed in collisions for several weeks.

A chestnut mare was hurt in a collision on the B3080 at Turf Hill.

The other injury accident involved a young cow that was hit by a vehicle on the B3054 at Beaulieu.

A pony was involved in an accident at Sway Road, Brockenhurst.

It is not known if the pony was injured or not. A search was carried out but the animal could not be found.

The number of animal accidents has remained at a low level for several months, largely as a result of coronavirus restrictions reducing the amount of traffic on the roads.

The Verderers say no accidents occurred in the week starting April 5.
