PLANS to build a bungalow beside an existing property have been turned down.
New Forest District Council has refused an application relating to a plot of land at Duncan Road in Ashley, New Milton.
A report to councillors said: "The site contains a detached bungalow on a corner plot with a single garage.
"The proposal entails the demolition of the garage and the provision of an attached single-storey dwelling comprising open plan living/kitchen area, bathroom and two bedrooms."
The report said the position of the proposed development meant it would appear out of context.
It added: "An attached dwelling would introduce a semi-detached property to the area that accentuates its overall cramped appearance."
