HAMPSHIRE residents are now able to collect Covid-19 tests from several sites across the county.

Lateral flow tests are available for those living with primary, secondary and college-aged children in Hampshire.

As reported, the news was confirmed on Monday as schools will reopen to all children on March 8.

But Hampshire County Council has now revealed the location of the testing sites where families will be able to pick up tests twice a week.

The centres are based at the following sites: Southampton Airport; Parsons Barracks car park, Aldershot; The Anvil, Churchill Way E, Basingstoke; Cams Alders car park, Fareham; Walpole Park car park, Gosport; Havant Civic Centre car park, Havant; Worthy Lane car park, Winchester; Shepherds Spring Lane car park, Andover; The Furlong car park, Ringwood.

All those testing sites are open in the morning for appointment-only testing on site for those with Covid symptoms.

But the council said that following a deep clean, they will then re-open from 1pm to 7pm for people without symptoms to collect the test-at-home kits.

The council said anyone testing positive at home will be asked to confirm their result via a follow up appointment at one of the centres where they will get tested again. Those undertaking at-home testing will be asked to register their results with NHS Test and Trace.

Anyone unable to collect a test from one of those centres, can order a test for home delivery by visiting www.gov.uk.

It comes as the government is recommending that parents, carers and support bubbles, test themselves twice each week
