PLANNING chiefs are studying a proposal to replace a house with a new property that will be 30% larger.

The New Forest National Park Authority has received an application to demolish Gilbury in Gilbury Lane, Exbury, and redevelop the site.

The application says: "The existing building is not considered to make a positive contribution to the historic character and appearance of the locality.

"Although the original dwelling on the site dated back to the 1800s, this was demolished at the beginning of the 20th century and replaced with an early form of the dwelling which remains on site today.

"Outbuildings have subsequently been constructed which further detract from the historic character and appearance of the locality."
