UPDATE 4.28pm: The road has now been cleared
DRIVERS are facing delays following a "significant" two-vehicle accident on the main route through the New Forest.
One lane of the A31 westbound at Castle Malwood Hill, between Cadnam and Stony Cross, is reported to be blocked.
Photographs from the scene show one vehicle on its roof and another on its side in dense undergrowth.
The emergency services are at the scene, including police and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Drivers approaching from the Cadnam direction are facing 15-minute delays.
Hampshire Specials tweeted: "Significant two-vehicle crash at Castle Malwood Hill.
"Everyone is safe and well, probably no hospital required for anyone."
A Hampshire police spokesperson added: "We were called at 1.46pm to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A31 westbound.
"Officers are in attendance. Lane 1 is currently closed."
