A FOOTPATH in the New Forest is set to be closed for around 12 days while improvement works are carried out.
The route which runs along the south edge of Hightown Lake, Ringwood, is due to be shut off from Monday, February 1.
Work is being carried out by Hampshire County Council's countryside service, in partnership with New Forest District Council as part of its 'Green Way' project.
The Hightown Lake footpath will be resurfaced with hoggin/ gravel after minor vegetation clearance takes place.
Some adjoining footpaths will also be subject to similar treatment.
A closure is expected to be required for most of the 12 days of the project, but access will still be possible for Ringwood & District Angling Association members.
