PLANS to turn a three-bedroom property into a six-bedroom guest house have been given the go-ahead.
Aquashore has received consent to convert a house at Melbury Close, Lymington, into letting rooms, with guests having their breakfast at a nearby B&B.
Lymington and Pennington Town Town Council had urged New Forest District Council (NFDC) to reject the application.
The authority also received 12 letters of objection from people living near the site.
A report to NFDC said people had raised concerns over the prospect of the letting rooms generating noise, fumes and light pollution.
But it said the existing property "could be occupied in a relatively intense manner" if it were used by extended family or a family with adult children.
It added: "The design and layout of the parking will ensure that vehicles can access and egress from the spaces with ease.
"Therefore the level of noise and fumes associated with this parking provision is minimal."
