TWO luxury hotels in the New Forest have been honoured at this year's Conde Nast Johansens Award for Excellence after earning rave reviews.

The five-star Chewton Glen at New Milton was crowned Best Countryside Hotel and the Grade II-listed Burley Manor triumphed in the Best Value Experience category.

In 2019 the Chewton Glen was named AA Hotel of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards.

Announcing the latest accolade managing director Andrew Stembridge said: "This is an acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication from all the teams who continue to strive to improve.

"We are extremely proud and honoured to be part of a company which continues to evolve and distinguish itself as some of the best hotels in the UK."

Set in eight acres of grounds overlooking a red deer sanctuary, Burley Manor was named Best Countryside Hotel at last year's Conde Nast awards.

Adam Wilson, general manager of Burley Manor, described the latest accolade as a testament to the hard work and commitment of his team, who went "above and beyond every day".

He added: "Every year there are only a small handful of properties that make it to the top of the awards and we are thrilled that Burley Manor has been recognised."

Conde Nast is regarded as the leading reference guide to luxury hotels, spas and other venues across the globe. The awards are based on guest feedback and online voting.

Mr Wilson said: "We really thank everyone who voted for us, and all our loyal guests who have visited over last few months.

"We want them to feel as if they are at home and enjoy the magic of our beautiful New Forest surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

"We greatly appreciate this recognition and will endeavour to continue to offer the best value experience to all our guests."

Garry Baldwin, the hotel's managing director, added: "Although we find ourselves in unsettling times again we are very much looking forward to the future, with plenty of exciting things to come."
