ARMED police are said to have been seen cordoning off and entering a village home.

Witnesses claim that armed police closed the road this morning whilst they entered the house in Luck Road, Bursledon.

The incident is said to have taken place at about 9.15am this morning and lasted about one hour.

Witnesses also claim to have seen a female being arrested at the scene.

One nearby resident and onlooker said: "I saw three police cars as well as some unmarked police cars and five or six armed officers.

"There was a police presence here yesterday and helicopter flying about, and today there was an armed police presence and they seem to have arrested a female.

"I'd just got back from the school run and it was pretty scary, you just don't expect to see that.

"There was quite a lot of other people around and we weren't allowed back towards the houses as it had been cordoned off."

Police have been approached for comment.
