POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen and set alight on a Southampton street.

Fire crews were called to Staplehurst Close in Weston last week after a white Ford Fiesta was torched.

Emergency services arrived at the scene between 10pm and 10.30pm on November 17.

Daily Echo:

Police were able to identify the vehicle, which is known to have been stolen from Priory Road on October 28.

Officers investigating the incident believe the car was driven around Bursledon prior to it being set alight.

Daily Echo:

Now, police are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the car since it was stolen, or who has any information into either the arson or the theft of the vehicle.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you have dash-cam footage of the car?

"Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with the reference 44200446992. Alternatively, you can phone Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111."
