A HAMPSHIRE football club has scored an off-the-pitch victory by gaining permission to improve its floodlights.
Ringwood Town FC and Social Club has been given consent to replace six existing lights with LED ones to comply with guidelines laid down by the Football Association.
The scheme has been approved by New Forest District Council (NFDC).
Ringwood Town Council had urged the authority to support the proposal, saying it would enhance the facility and reduce the impact on the local environment.
A report to NFDC members said: "Floodlight pylons within the football ground are not within 280m of any dwelling.
"Other than times of floodlight operation the proposal would have no direct or significant impact upon the character and appearance of the area."
