PLANS to build a bungalow on the Hampshire coastline have been rejected for the second time.

OPM (Bournemouth) Ltd lodged an appeal after an application relating to a site at Hurst Road, Milford on Sea, was turned down by New Forest District Council.

But government-planning inspector Robin Buchanan has upheld the council's decision.

Mr Buchanan said the proposed development would be "manifestly out of keeping" with other homes in the area. It would also be "unduly prominent and obtrusive".

He added; "The proposal would significantly detract from views towards the seafront and beyond, including a low cafe building which is an intrinsic part of the seafront.

"Consequently I find the proposal would cause harm to the area."
