A MAN with a “very bad record” for breaching court orders has been jailed.
Peter Maguire was slapped with a three-year restraining order last August banning him from going within 200 metres of a Calmore address.
However, the 53-year-old was caught outside by police outside on June 14 meaning he has now breached the order three times - which he pleaded guilty to.
With 32 convictions for 52 offences, Maguire of Long Lane Holbury appeared before Southampton Crown Court via video link from HMP Lewes on Thursday.
The court heard how in 2007 he was given a restraining order against another woman following incidents of criminal damage and harassment.
Then in 2016 he was convicted of ABH against a second woman and given another restraining order.
Prosecuting, barrister Siobhan Linsley told how Maguire’s current victim is vulnerable.
Defending, Berenice Mulvanny said he accepted breaching the order was stupid.
It mitigation, it was said how Maguire was previously stabbed during riots at HMP Winchester and was “likely suffering from PTSD”.
During sentencing, Judge Peter Henry said: “You have a very bad record so far as breaching orders.
“You clearly do not have any regard for court orders.”
He added the potential for harm was “considerable” as Maguire had beaten her in the past.
Judge Henry jailed him for six months.
