A CAR collided with railings on a busy Southampton road last night.
Police were called to Redbridge Road just before 10pm after a Citroen C3 mounted railings to the left hand side of the eastbound carriage.
A number of police cars and a recovery vehicle were at the scene.
Witnesses reported that one lane of the road was blocked by the emergency vehicles and a police officer was stood in the road diverting traffic around the blocked lane.
They added that the car was still mounted on the railings at 11pm.
A large section of the railings on Redbridge Road are also missing today, but it is not known for sure if this was due to the crash.
The vehicle was recovered and no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "We were called at 9.46pm on 14 July with reports of a collision on Redbridge Road, Southampton.
