This classic country pub is situated just outside of Winchester in the picturesque village of Hinton Ampner.

The Royalists fought Parliamentarians - but today you can just work up an appetite for lunch.

They will be open from midday on Saturday.

It even featured in the James Cameron movie, Titanic.

The pub’s history dates back to 1873 and is of historical interest as it is built against the old town wall built around 1350.

Following government covid-19 guidelines The Platform Tavern is limiting the number of customers inside the pub and recommends booking in advance via their website.
