A CAR crash sent oil spewing onto a road.
A white Skoda span out of control after "clipping" a bridge in Jones Lane, Hythe.
Oil went gushing into the road and a police roadblock was put in place.
Emergency services including paramedics and fire crews rushed to the scene at around 2.30pm on Friday.
According to police, the driver of the car was rushed to hospital for a check over.
The Skoda Citigo was recovered and a Hampshire County Council Highways unit was called to clean the oil spill.
Jones Lane reopened at around 7pm last night.
Police are urging motorists to drive carefully and anticipate hazards, even if they drive a route daily.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.20pm on June 19 to a report of a single vehicle collision on Jones Lane, Hythe.
"A white Skoda had collided with the wall on the railway bridge.
"The driver, a man, suffered minor injuries."
