SUPPORT is pouring in for plans to open a micro-brewery behind a Hampshire pub and restore an old tollhouse next door.

The application relates to a Lymington pub called The Monkey House, which used to be known as the Tollhouse Inn because of its close proximity to the Grade II-listed building.

As reported in the Daily Echo, publican Will Bradshaw has submitted his proposals to New Forest District Council.

Lymington and Pennington Town Council is backing the proposal, which has also sparked several letters of support from residents.

Helen Saunders, of Bramble Walk, Lymington, said: "The proposed changes and additions are an excellent and innovative way to move this much-loved pub forward.

"Everyone who owns their own business puts their heart and soul into it.

"I fully support all aspects of this excellent design that will improve and enhance the existing property and utilises an almost derelict building within the grounds."
