PLANS to upgrade a single-storey cob cottage in the New Forest are likely to be approved next week.
Members of the National Park Authority (NPA) are being urged to approve an application relating to Densome Cottage in Upper Densome Wood at Woodgreen, near Fordingbridge.
The thatched cottage is in the Western Escarpment Conservation Area.
The NPA has received an application to build single-storey extensions as well as equipping the cottage with a new porch, two new rooflights and a replacement car port. An existing extension would be demolished.
A similar proposal was rejected by the NPA earlier this year.
A report by planning officers says: "The changes made since the previous application are acceptable and would overcome the previous reasons for refusal.
"This is a very small dwelling. The extension is also small and proportionate to the dwelling."
