A MAN has been arrested for dangerous driving following a police chase involving armed response vehicles.

A black MINI failed to stop for police near Junction 11 of the M3.

The driver sped towards the New Forest pursued by armed response vehicles and a police dog unit.

According to officers, he had no insurance and was driving whilst disqualified during the incident at around 4.15pm on Saturday.

A 34-year-old man from Old Basing was finally caught and arrested at Lepe Country Park and his car impounded.

A police spokesperson said: "A 34-year-old man from Old Basing has been reported for four offences after being stopped by police following a pursuit. which began on the M3 at Junction 11. He has been reported for having no insurance, having no licence, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. He was stopped by officers in Lepe Country Park at around 4.15pm on May 30."
