A LYMINGTON man died in hospital after police found him unconscious, an inquest opening heard.
Officers found Nicholas Lindeman at his Campion Way flat on March 14. The 63-year-old's neighbour had reported not seeing him in four days.
An ambulance was called and Mr Lindeman was taken to Southampton General Hospital where his condition "deteriorated quickly". He died on the same day.
In a post mortem report by pathologist Dr Adrian Bateman, the preliminary cause of death is stated as ketoacidosis, with pneumonia contributing.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp has requested relevant medical records, a GP report and the post mortem documents to investigate the death further.
A full inquest will be held at Winchester Coroner's Court on October 29.
