POLICE continue to question a woman arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a new born baby boy.
Officers investigating the death of a baby boy found in Hythe last week have been granted a further 32 hours to question a 36-year-old woman.
It comes following the discovery of the body of the recently born baby, which was found near Shore Road, Hythe, on Thursday.
Now police say a 36-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The woman is currently in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Liz Williams said: “This is a difficult and complex investigation, and we have a dedicated team working hard to establish the exact circumstances of what took place.
“Our officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area so if you do have any concerns, then please speak to them.
“If you do have information that you think could help our enquiries, then please come forward and speak to us.”
