THE trial of a pensioner accused off attempted murder following a serious crash in the New Forest is set to start today.
It follows a collision involving a Jaguar S-Type, driven by Mr Tillman, and a Mini, on the A337 between Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst on August 20 last year.
The driver of the Mini, a 33-year-old woman, from Dorset and the passenger of the Jaguar, a 59-year-old woman Sway, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Southampton General Hospital.
Peter Tillman, 71, was later charged with an allegation of attempted murder and dangerous driving – which he denies.
Tillman, of Manchester Road, Sway, appeared at Winchester Crown Court last week when his trial date was fixed for Monday (February 10).
The trial is expected to last between five and seven days.
