SOUTHAMPTON’S Unity 101 Community Radio has celebrated 14 years of broadcasting and serving the community.
Claiming to be the south’s first and longest-running Asian and ethnic community radio station it has an estimated audience of 60,000 people.
It is run by Ram Kalyan ‘Kelly’, who has been recognised for his dedication to community media. Last Friday the station celebrated with an Anniversary Awards and Achievement Dinner held at Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour.
The event included Bhangra dancers, a Bengali fashion show and music.
