A MAN has pleaded guilty to being in possession of an axe in one of Southampton's busiest streets.
Steven William Benham, 48, was caught with the weapon in Shirley High Street on September 16.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Benham, of Shirley Towers, pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
His sentencing was moved to Southampton Crown Court, where he will appear on November 8.
