FRIENDS, family and footballers have raised more than £2K after coming together for a charity fun day.
The event was organised by parents Scott Gardner and Sam Williamson to raise money for Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity.
The parents wanted to recognise the “fantastic” care it had given to their daughter, Elena, 8, who suffers from an auto-immune disease.
Taking place on August 25 at Totton and Eling FC the fun day involved a football match as well as stalls, cake donations and a raffle.
Donations included a family ticket to Paultons Park and shirts from FC Barcelona and Reading. There was also an auction for a signed football donated by Manchester United and Stuart Armstrong’s match-worn Saints shirt, which fetched £70 each.
