Train lines have reopened after emergency services rushed to the scene of an incident at Eastleigh train station today.

It has been reported that train services between Southampton Basingstoke have now resumed.

However, services running to and from Eastleigh station have been cancelled or revised. 

According to South Western Railway, disruption is expected until 2pm this afternoon.

All lines were blocked and train services running through Eastleigh were affected by the incident which happened at around 8.43am.

Services between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour, Weymouth to Poole and Salisbury and Romsey have been affected.

A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "Following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Southampton Airport and Basingstoke, lines have now reopened. Train services running through this station will be cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected unti 2pm.

A spokersperson for National Rail, added: "All lines have reopened following emergency services dealing with an incident at Eastleigh. Trains running through this station may still be cancelled or delayed whilst service returns to normal."
