A PROPOSAL to build nine new homes in a Hampshire village has been rejected for the second time.
AJ Developments applied for planning permission for eight flats and a bungalow on a site at Barton Wood Road in Barton on Sea. The application was rejected by New Forest District Council.
AJ Developments lodged an appeal but inspector Stuart Willis has upheld the authority’s decision.
Mr Willis said the proposed development would harm the character and appearance of the area.
He also said that traffic generated by the new homes would result in “significant disturbance” to the occupants of two existing properties.
