ROCKERS Biffy Clyro, singer George Ezra and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have been announced as this year's headliners for the Isle of Wight Festival.

The trio of top acts will each take to the main stage of this year's event, which will take place at Seaclose Park, Newport, from Thursday, 13 June to Sunday, 16 June.

Ever-popular DJ Fatboy Slim will also take to the stage, as will British indie-rockers Bastille, pop-singer Jess Glynne and iconic 70s and 80s ska band Madness.

Daily Echo:

"Never Gonna Give You Up" singer Rick Astley will also perform on the main stage.

George Ezra said: "It’s been less than 18 months since I was last at The Isle of Wight Festival, but it already seems like a world away.

"It’s going to be brilliant to return to the beautiful isle and play those new songs to an audience that has now heard the record.

"I’m extremely flattered to have been asked to headline and can’t wait to get up and play."

Last year marked the 50th anniversary since the event first took place on the island, with 50,000 enthusiastic festival-goers getting into the party spirit over the four days.

The sold-out weekend saw nearly 300 artists and bands perform across eight stages, including incredible Main Stage headline performances from Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, Depeche Mode and The Killers and stand out performances in the Big Top from the likes of The Wombats, Feeder, Sigrid, Travis and the Hacienda Classical.

Huge crowds also gathered in the BT Sport Field of Dreams to celebrate England’s World Cup victory against Panama.
