MY HUSBAND and I went out for dinner in Eastleigh last Saturday and we were horrified at what goes on in the area.
We had dinner at 6pm, so there were lots of young families around.
Large groups of young people congregated on the steps leading away from the Swan Centre.
They were swearing, spitting, dropping rubbish and blocking the steps.
Security guards moved them on but they returned and continued to behave badly.
A police van drove past on the road below several times and the groups finally broke up and scattered.
I spoke to our waitress and she told us this happens regularly.
I feel saddened by what Eastleigh seems to have become and I am not in a hurry to go there again to eat out.
