ESSO is giving Hampshire residents the opportunity to give their feedback on elements of its new 90km pipeline proposals.

Launching its third consultation, the company is asking for comments on the proposed design and plans for its pipeline route.

The consultation will be open from today, until February 19.

The London to Southampton pipeline project is a proposal to replace 90km of a 105km aviation fuel pipeline running from Fawley Refinery on the Waterside to Esso’s West London Terminal storage facility.

The existing pipeline runs through Hampshire and Surrey and the proposed pipeline will take a similar route, aiming to contribute to the local economies.

Esso project manager, Tim Sutherland, said: “This next consultation seeks the views of landowners, communities, statutory bodies, environmental organisations and local authorities on the more complex design refinements, to make sure that, on balance, we have selected the most appropriate route for the replacement pipeline.”

The two public events will be held at Cody Sports and Social Club, The Fairway, Old Ively Road, Farnborough, on February 5 from 2pm – 8pm, and at the Salvation Army, Woodthorpe Road, Ashford, on February 9 from 11am – 5pm
