RINGWOOD-based Churchill Retirement Living has said a big thank-you to staff, owners and suppliers who helped collect more 250 toys and gifts to send to disadvantaged children this Christmas.
The firm’s charitable arm – the Churchill Foundation – collected the toys to support Wave 105’s Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal.
Colleagues from Churchill and its management company Millstream Management Services were encouraged to buy an extra gift while out Christmas shopping and drop it under the tree at the company’s HQ in Ringwood.
Proceeds from the foundation’s recent Winter Fashion Show event in Ringwood were also used to buy extra gifts.
The result was an impressive pile of toys, bikes, scooters, games and other presents under the tree.
One of Churchill’s Customer Services vans was filled to the brim and took the delivery to the Mission Christmas warehouse in Eastleigh.
Spencer and Clinton McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living founders and trustees of the foundation, said: "The huge pile of gifts collected will make such a difference to local children who faced the prospect of waking up to no presents this Christmas morning. We’d like to thank everyone who donated for their generosity.”
